Background
Moxie Gallagher grew up on a small town farm in Alabama. The only girl & youngest of her 4 siblings.
As a child, Moxie always looked up to her brothers & tagged along as often as they would allow. She loved playing in the mud & wrestling with her brothers, much to her father's chagrin. Her father always held the opinion that girls should be proper and reserved in their behavior. Lady-like, if you will, dressed demurely and graceful at all times. Moxie disagreed. She and her father butted heads often. Her mother tried to reassure her that he was only wanting the best for her, but Moxie just felt repressed. Her natural self, ignored and unappreciated.
To counter her father's hold, Moxie read a lot. Studying all sorts of subjects, from gardening to military strategy. She wanted to know it all. Or at least a bit of it all. Knowledge was the power she lacked outside of herself & something she could control.
Despite her independent nature, Moxie was a good & respectful child. Doing as she was told, and following the rules as they were set out for her. Moxie begged her father, to no avail, to allow her to join in on school sports and activities. Her father said the only appropriate activity she could participate in would be cheerleading, which was something Moxie had no interest in whatsoever. She was a leader not someone who wanted to stand on the sides and in the shadows.
Having recently read an article about “food deserts”, urban areas lacking fresh and healthy food options, Moxie set her sights on one city mentioned, Los Santos. After obtaining a job at the local farmer’s market, Moxie worked hard and saved up enough money to escape her small town life and begin her own adventure in the world. She wishes to use her farming knowledge, to supply fresh fruit and vegetables to the local restaurants in the city, with her ultimate goal being an in city farmer’s market.
