Background
Matilda Murphy grew up in Blaine County along with her twin brother Merlin, of whom she is two minutes older. Matilda exhibits an inquisitive nature, which was evident in her excellent school performance. Matilda arrived in Los Santos from Blaine County in June of 2022. After touring the city a bit and enjoying the atmosphere of the UWU Cafe, Matilda applied and was accepted as an employee by Mel Rose. Matilda, through her hard work and OCD, showed herself an irreplaceable employee, quickly becoming a manager.
On October 5th, 2022, Matilda’s life changed upon her meeting of James Kapow. Though he was incredibly drunk that evening, Matilda saw a kindness and magnetism in Kapow, which she could not resist. However Matilda did not think she would ever catch the eye of her newfound interest. Her doubts were determined to be unfounded as she woke to a text from Kapow on the morning of October 9th. In the text he said "You seem fantastic and it would be great to get to know you more.” Matilda did not know what to do. She’d never experienced feelings of this nature before. She accepted his invitation for a ride along during one of his PD shifts, they followed this with a trip to the coast for a bit of scuba diving.
Their first official date was October 15th, after Matilda’s Pokémon Bowling event. When pressed by Mel if this was a date, Kapow said it was, later Matilda told him it didn’t have to be if he didn’t want it to be. But he said he hoped it was, and Matilda said the same. Thus began their relationship.
The evening of October 18th ushered in a tough period for the newfound couple as Kapow was involved in a tragic kidnapping by The Lost MC, which culminated in the severe injury of Kapow & the death of his friend Officer Jack Gillman. On top of his extensive physical injuries, Kapow was distraught at the loss of his friend & colleague. Although their relationship was very new & she was very nervous, Matilda invited Kapow to stay with her so she could help him recover. To ensure his comfort during recovery, she chose to sleep on the couch.
During the first few weeks of their courtship, Kapow & Matilda were being taunted regularly by Frankie Walters, a low level criminal who seemed to have a personal vendetta against Kapow. This rivalry culminated on October 27th, with Frankie breaking into UWU Cafe, taking Matilda hostage in order to entrap Kapow. Kapow exchanged himself for Matilda and after being held by Frankie, Kapow was made to call Matilda. During this call, James told Matilda that he loved her, and she told him the same. A shot rang out as they were on the phone, without hesitation, Matilda ran to James’ aid, holding him & vowing to never leave his side.
Matilda & Kapow worked tirelessly together & on November 11th, 2022, they purchased a quaint little home in Mirror Park. During all this time, they spent hours going on adventures, many landing them in the hospital, but all of them filled with happiness & absolute love.
January 15th was their 3 month mensiversary. They spent the day together, doing all the things that they love, dirt biking, mountain climbing, swimming, & playing games at the arcade. They ended the day at “their spot”, a location which is secret to only them, a place of beauty and love and solitude. There, under the rays of the setting sun, James Kapow kneeled in front of Matilda, asking for her hand in marriage. Without hesitation, Matilda smiled & nodded & gleefully accepted his proposal. Matilda was over the moon with excitement & pure happiness. They were wed in an intimate ceremony on March 20th, 2023.
Current Day
Matilda & James Kapow are thoroughly enjoying married life as they work & save diligently in hopes of purchasing their dream home in the Vinewood Hills.
Trivia
Has a twin brother, Merlin, whom she is two minutes older than, thus giving her the sense that she is “the boss” of him.
Has a short temper when she feels something is an injustice, and will make threats to “pop” someone in the face if she feels they are deserving.
