A hard life, but wanting to change.
Paddy was born on the 7th of April 1990 in a small hospital in Bellshill, North Lanarkshire to parents, Linda and Chris McGinty. A few weeks after Paddy was born Chris left both Paddy and Linda to start a new life. Linda didn't take this well and this resulted in Linda going down a hole of drugs and alcohol leaving Paddy to tend from himself from an extremely young age.
From the age of 6 Paddy was already self sufficient to the point he would cook, clean and generally help look after the household while his mother slept off her hangover/comedown from the night before. The only things that Paddy loved growing up was cars and the transformers. He always said that when he grew up he wanted to own a full scale replica of bumblebee as this was his favourite character. These were his escapes and he found himself obsessed with cars to the point that he would go out with the local kids, carjacking and joy riding from the age of only 10 years old.
As he grew into his teenage years he got heavily involved with a local gang and started selling cannabis to which he noticed a profit that changed his life. The gang wars got heavy, but Paddy never budged, he had seen it all. He eventually became an enforcer for Big Malcolm Tomlinson who was the head of a local firm because no matter what you threw at Paddy, he would always have an answer and a lot of those answers were violent and quick.
In the middle of all this Paddy also met the love of his life, Rosemary, a local girl of similar age who he always seen out at the clubs at the weekend. The two of them got talking over a drink and she was the first person to ever really make him smile and get that feeling he was always looking for. Happiness, the couple rushed into everything, the had their first house together only 3 months after getting together (to which Linda decided to take them up on the offer of a spare room since she couldn't afford their dingy flat without Paddy's money), they were married within the year and Rose fell pregnant with their Daughter Cleo, the following year.
As time progressed and Paddy entered his early 20's he started to have doubts about the life he was living. He had the cash, he had the big house, the flash car, but never felt like he was really protecting the people he loved the most and felt a constant sense of danger over his family. 6 days after his 21st birthday while sitting in the pub with Mr Tomlinson, Paddy decided he had enough and told Mr Tomlinson he was leaving and not coming back. His face went red and he told Paddy "I don't think you want to do that son. You see, if you leave, my top guy leaves and if my top guy leaves then who really has my back?" Paddy quickly retorted by telling him that it wasn't an option and whoever he sent after him would die a slow and painful death and would be posted to his house piece by piece. Malcolm knew that this was something that Paddy wouldn't hesitate in doing so he gulped the last sip of his pint and without batting an eyelid said "Fine. But if I ever find you on my turf again I won't be held responsible for what happens to you."
Leaving the pub that night felt like a burden of Paddy's shoulders however, when he got home he had found his house burning down, Petrol Bombed. With his Mum still inside. Luckily Rose and Cleo were over at Rose's mums when the attack happened and luckily they were unharmed. He stuck around for the funeral. His head all over the place, tempted for revenge on Malcolm who clearly arranged for this. But he had left this life behind. He bought the family one way plane tickets and flew to Los Santos to start over.
Arriving in Los Santos
Fresh off the plane, a brand new city. This is something Paddy had always dreamed of. The only time he had ever seen a big city like this was in films. When he arrived he wanted to help people so he decided to set up a taxi business called Paddy's Cabs. He had advertised it on twitter several times. and people were generally liking the idea as the city's taxi company, Patterson's Cab Co were well known for being crooks.
A few weeks into working Paddy got a message from Max Jazzhands asking for a pick up just at the car park just down from Pillbox hospital to Patterson's depot. Paddy felt suspicious at this but Max promised him "One of those drivers ran my car off the road and I'm just going up to speak to them about covering the damages." When arriving at the Depot, Paddy had enjoyed the conversation with Max so much he decided to wave the fare. From here Max got out the car, apologised then started hitting Paddy's brand new car with a golf club. As Paddy attempted to speed away several taxis flew out of the depot and boxed Paddy in. Max then approached Paddy with an ultimatum. "Join Patterson's, or die." With no options, Paddy joined the cab co and swiftly worked his way up the ranks. Being used in schemes to take down local reporter Jay Walker who quickly became Paddy's arch nemesis. Gained the trust of the boss and started being looked at as an enforcer.
Eventually. Paddy was asked to scope out another city for the boss to see if it would be somewhere that would be feasible to set up a new branch of Patterson's and he was thrilled with the idea of more freedom and not being called in to do the wet work so he agreed. Packed up his bumblebee replica which he loved dearly and began the drive to the new city with his wife and Daughter in tow. When driving to the city he was sideswiped by a Black 4x4 with tinted windows, the car was thrown of the road and hurdled into a ditch. He managed to climb out but as he turned the car was engulfed in flames and he heard the screams of both his wife and his daughter which still haunt him till this day. He briefly seen the person driving the 4x4 as it passed. That man was Oliver Patterson.
Post Accident
Eventually, Paddy never came to terms with the fact he is on his own now, but still carried the burden that he was working for the man who destroyed his life, with no option to either continue or die, as he had seen too much. He decided to go on a holiday for some time to clear his mind. While overseas he partook in copious amounts of drugs and alcohol to the point he didn't resemble the man he was before. Gone was the cold exterior and replaced with a shell, who was in no fit state to walk anywhere never mind drive a cab. It was at this point, the taxi bois gathered to help Paddy see the error of his ways and helped him into recovery. While everything seemed to go back to normal on the outside, Paddy had decided that the only way he was going to get peace, was revenge against Oliver. He remained loyal, but internally plotting against him in the hopes that one day he would slip up and Paddy would get his chance to end it.
Paddy actually remained so loyal that when Oliver Patterson was sworn into office as the first mayor of Los Santos, Paddy quickly followed over and became the cities first Media officer. A position he kept until Mayor Oleander Addams took over and promptly quit. To this day, Paddy is still calculated, cold and has even attempted to put issues aside with long time enemy Jay Walker to take Patterson down. Jay however, decided that the only way that this will be concluded is either if Paddy disappears, or if he is imprisoned for a previous run-in when Paddy happened to shoot Jay in the head to support Patterson.
