Backstory
Gianna entered the world on the 17/10/1996 in a dilapidated town nestled in the central belt of Scotland. Her mother, Amanda, hailed from a destitute family, unable to offer much in terms of resources or support. On the other hand, her father, Christopher, stood as a prosperous and accomplished businessman, bound in matrimony to another woman. Upon learning of Amanda's pregnancy with Gianna, Christopher promptly departed, vanishing from their lives forever.
From the tender age of 6 to 12, Gianna's life lacked the stability most children take for granted. Days would pass where she found herself abandoned at home, deprived of sustenance, as her mother ventured out to revel in the throes of drinking and partying with her friends. When Amanda finally returned, often after three or four days, she would bring along a new "boyfriend," dubbing him as Gianna's new father. Sadly, these relationships were transient, lasting no more than a week or two. This turbulent cycle left an indelible mark on Gianna's young psyche, instilling within her a profound sense of mistrust toward all she encountered in life.
At the age of 12, Gianna's life took another distressing turn when her mother succumbed to drug addiction. As a result, Gianna was deemed unfit to be in her mother's care and was placed under the jurisdiction of the local authority. For the next four years, she navigated the complexities of the foster care system. However, her tumultuous behaviour proved to be a recurring challenge. During her time in foster care, Gianna's turbulent nature manifested in various destructive ways. She was expelled from three different high schools due to her involvement in fights, arson incidents, and vandalism. Falling in with a delinquent crowd, she engaged in underage drinking and, alarmingly, succumbed to a cocaine addiction by the age of 16. When Gianna eventually aged out of the care system, she found herself adrift, devoid of a stable home. From one house party to another, she floated aimlessly for years. This nomadic existence left her with nothing but fleeting acquaintances who failed to provide any meaningful support. Despite finding herself in dire situations, she discovered that her so-called friends were unwilling or unable to help or rescue her from her predicaments.
At the age of 26, Gianna triumphed over her drug addiction, paving the way for a profound shift in her life's trajectory. As if answering her fervent prayers, fate intervened when an old friend reached out named Emry Adams, extending a lifeline of refuge in the vibrant city of Los Santos. With heartfelt conviction, they painted a vivid picture of the potential that awaited Gianna there—a chance for a significantly improved existence. Their promises of unwavering support and commitment to her success resonated deeply within her. Embracing the opportunity presented before her, Gianna seized it with unwavering determination. With a surge of excitement, she promptly booked the next available flight, leaving behind the shadows of her troubled past. Filled with hope and resolve, she embarked on this transformative journey, resolute in her decision to never glance back at the trials she had overcome. In Los Santos, a city pulsating with possibilities, Gianna eagerly embraced the unknown, ready to shape a future filled with promise and fulfilment.
Moving to Los Santos
After a brief conversation about their flight and catching up, Gianna and Emry drove to an old house above a shop on Fudge Lane where Emry and his friends had been living for the past few months. Unbeknownst to Gianna, this would be her introduction to the members of a gang known as "The Unknown." This group consisted of outcasts, making Gianna fit in naturally. The gang included the two founders, Axel Hampton and Gianna's friend Emry, as well as the leaders Chris Woods and Marc Duuwn. Other members included Barry Cornell, Sirus King, and Patrick Ford.
As Gianna arrived, she was greeted by the gang members who surrounded the entry door, whistling and clapping, welcoming her into what would become her home for the next five months. However, she soon realized that this was no ordinary group of friends. The Unknown was a notorious gang of high-profile criminals, known for causing harm to civilians, targeting local police officers, and regularly robbing the Vangelico's jewellery store. Gianna, eager to make easy money, also participated in these criminal activities. She grew close to the gang and considered them her family, willing to do anything for them without hesitation.
During Gianna's involvement with the unknown gang, her reputation as a criminal and her impulsive nature became well-known in the city. One person who suffered the consequences of her actions was Michael Cheritto, a kind and caring employee at the local Burgershot. Although they were close, Gianna never saw Michael as anything more than a friend. Unbeknownst to her, Michael was infatuated with Gianna and would often observe her during her daily yoga sessions, which helped her cope with her inner struggles. Gianna invited Michael to join the gang, and he eagerly accepted, unaware of the ulterior motives.
Over time, Michael started sharing information about the gang's operations with the local police, betraying Gianna and her associates. Gianna and Emry devised a plan to deceive Michael by creating fake operations and leading him into police traps. Eventually, Emry decided it was time to confront Michael directly, and one of their acquaintances named Courtlyn DeMarquez attacked him with a bat.
After several weeks, Gianna, Emry, and Courtlyn arranged a meeting with Michael at the end of a pier. Gianna sought answers from Michael, wanting to understand why he had betrayed them after they had helped him. During the meeting, Michael showed indifference, walking away and taking phone calls while Gianna tried to express her frustrations. Overwhelmed by anger, Gianna reached a breaking point and fatally shot Michael in the back. She quickly fled the scene with the other gang members, leaving Michael to die. The LSPD later announced on Twitter that Michael Cheritto had succumbed to his injuries. To this day, Gianna carries a heavy burden of guilt, deeply buried within her mind. She only confides in individuals she trusts when discussing this traumatic event.
