The BCSO is the primary law enforcement authority in Blaine County, Los Santos County and a secondary law enforcement authority in Los Santos

Chain of Command

Blaine County Sheriff

The highest-ranking position in the Blaine County Sheriff's Office, the Sheriff is responsible for the overall management and administration of the department. They set departmental policies, oversee operations, and ensure public safety in the county.

The Blaine County Sheriff dons five gold stars on the lapels of their uniform.

Undersheriff

The Undersheriff serves as the second-in-command to the Blaine County Sheriff. They provide direct support to the Sheriff, assist in decision-making, and manage day-to-day operations. In the absence of the Sheriff, the Undersheriff may assume the powers and duties of the Sheriff.

The Undersheriff dons four gold stars on the lapels of their uniform.

Deputy Commander

A Deputy Commander holds a high-ranking position within the Sheriff's department and is responsible for supervising multiple divisions or specialized units. They assist in formulating strategies, managing personnel, and ensuring the efficient functioning of their assigned areas.

Deputy Captain

Deputy Captains are responsible for overseeing a specific district or area within the county. They manage and supervise the deputies assigned to their command, ensuring that law enforcement services are delivered efficiently and effectively.

Deputy Captains don two gold bars on the lapels of their uniform.

Deputy Lieutenant

Deputy Lieutenants serve as the highest ranking supervisor and typically supervise a team of supervisors within a division. They ensure that tasks are carried out effectively, provide guidance to subordinates, and maintain discipline within their assigned area. As well as writing and assisting with documentation

Deputy Master Sergeant

Deputy Master Sergeant is a more senior supervisory rank and has much the same responsibilities as a Deputy Sergeant, however they can act as a mentor and example to new Deputy Sergeants.

Deputy Sergeant

Deputy Sergeant I is the lowest supervisory rank and is responsible for supervising a team of deputies. They provide guidance, mentorship, and support to their subordinates, ensuring compliance with departmental policies and procedures.

Senior Deputy Sheriff

Senior Deputy Sheriffs are experienced and skilled deputies who may serve in various roles within the department. They possess advanced knowledge and expertise, often taking on specialized assignments or mentoring Deputy Sheriffs.

Deputy Sheriff

Deputy Sheriffs are sworn law enforcement officers responsible for maintaining public safety, enforcing laws, and conducting investigations within their jurisdiction. They respond to calls, patrol assigned areas, make arrests, and provide assistance to the community.

Deputy Cadet

Deputy Cadets are newly hired deputies who are in the training and evaluation phase. They undergo a probationary period during which they receive on-the-job training, learn departmental procedures, and demonstrate their capabilities as they work towards becoming a fully sworn deputy.

Deputy Cadets can not don the Sheriff hat, revolver or wear a badge until they graduate.
